Install myScribe on your computer

On a Mac or Windows computer, myScribe can run as its own app: its own window and icon, no browser tab. A setup page walks you through three steps (install, keep it in your Dock or taskbar, choose how it looks) and ticks each one off as you finish it.

Where. It opens by itself the first time a new account signs in on a computer. Open it again any time from Settings → Appearance → Set up desktop app. After your first workflow is complete, the Getting started card on Today also lists Install on your computer.

Step 1: Install myScribe as an app.

  • Chrome, Edge or Brave: choose Install myScribe, then Install in the browser's confirmation. If that button is not shown, click the install icon at the right end of the address bar, or use the browser menu: Chrome ⋮ → Cast, save, and share → Install page as app…; Edge ⋯ → Apps → Install this site as an app.
  • Safari on macOS Sonoma or later: menu bar File → Add to Dock… → Add, then choose I added it to my Dock. This also puts it in your Dock. Sign in once in the new app if asked.
  • Firefox, or Safari on older macOS: these cannot install apps. Choose Copy the myScribe link and open it in Chrome (or Edge on Windows).

The step ticks itself off when the browser reports the install or when myScribe opens in its own window. If it does not notice, choose Already installed? Mark as done. Next, keep it in your Dock or taskbar.

Gotchas. Progress is saved per computer and per browser. The page is for computers only; phones use the home-screen guide. Skip for now, ✕ or Esc closes it.

Plan gating. None.
