Which search should I use?
There are three ways to find something in myScribe and they look for different things. Picking the wrong one is the most common reason people conclude something is missing when it is not.
The command palette: ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows). Fastest way to jump somewhere. It matches titles only: recordings and other items by their title, projects by name, and entities: people, companies and topics. It does not read transcripts, so searching for something that was said returns nothing here. Use it when you know roughly what the thing is called.
The Library search box. The only search that reads inside your transcripts. Type words you actually remember hearing and it finds the recordings containing them, with the matching lines shown. Use it when you remember a phrase but not which meeting it was in.
Asking the assistant. Searches by meaning rather than by words, across the accessible content you have not marked Personal, and answers in a sentence with its sources. Use it when you want an answer rather than a list ("what did we decide about pricing?") or when you are not sure which words were used.
If one comes up empty, try another. Semantic search and exact-word search fail in opposite ways: the assistant can miss a phrase it does not think is relevant, and the Recordings box misses anything phrased differently. Between them they cover most of what people are actually looking for.
