What the words mean
A short glossary. myScribe uses these names consistently across navigation and help.
- Recording: anything in your Library, whether it came from your microphone, a meeting bot, an uploaded file, a PDF, a pasted article or a link.
- Team is the group of people you invite and share work with. Everyone also gets a private Personal area. Billing account is the payer for a plan and its seats.
- Seat vs member: a member is a person in a team. A seat is what your plan pays for. Adding a member uses a seat.
- Speaker label vs speaker name: the transcript starts with anonymous labels ("Speaker A"). Naming a speaker replaces that label everywhere on that one recording. A name alias is different: it is a nickname you answer to, saved on your profile, so future meetings assign tasks to you when someone calls you "Izzy".
- Highlights: the tab holding starred and AI-detected key moments. Use Add highlight to save your own.
- Entity: a person, company or topic myScribe noticed being mentioned. Auto-tags are the small topic chips on a library card. Both are generated; you cannot add your own.
- Personal: a per-recording privacy switch, shown as an amber badge. It keeps that recording and its linked content out of global AI answers, hides its tasks from general task views, and turns sharing off. It was previously labelled "Encrypt Recording"; nothing is encrypted by it, and every recording is already encrypted at rest.
- Overage: usage beyond what your plan includes, billed by the minute or the gigabyte. Pay-as-you-go is that billing model, not a plan you can buy.
- Diarization: working out who is speaking, so each turn of the conversation gets its own label.
